It Came From the Multiplex
Another book I bought on the basis of the cover alone!
This is a cracking anthology of horror stories from Kevin J. Anderson, Stephen Graham Jones, Betty Rocksteady, Orrin Grey, Warren Hammond, Mario Acevedo, Steve Rasnic Tem, Gary Jonas, Angie Hodapp, all put together under the steady hand of editor Joshua Viola.
Running around a common theme of the cinema, whether this is a drive-in, multiplex, or the making of films this is where the creep is.
The anthology starts strongly with “Alien Parasites from Outer Space” (a classic 50s B-Movie shocker) which is followed by the sequel “Return of the Alien Parasites from Outer Space”. These really set the tone for the rest of the anthology.
“Invisible” and “The Cronenberg Concerto” were both really creepy with a nice dark side.
and the whole anthology ended on a great note with a werewolf tale from Kevin J Anderson called “Special Makeup”
A great read from start to finish with some real gems in there, though as I said there wasn’t a dud.
