These pages will hold all the lists of films (and to a lesser extent, TV) that I want to write about, from all over the world in various genres and styles. Taking in films from the start of cinema all the way to cutting edge online servings.

I want to develop my knowledge of films and film making, and along with that my skills in writing reviews. To that extent I’m going to be doing a sort of self-guided film studies course using some basic books knowing that those books will help me find other material to read to help me on this.

The first books I’ll be reading are:

• A Short Guide to Writing About Film
• Film Studies: An Introduction

I’ll be working on some of the lists chronologically, such as the 1001 Movies to Watch Before You Die list, but I’ve also got a sort of catch-all list that holds a looooooong list of films that have been recommended by friends and YouTube channels which I’ll also work though.

There’s going to be a lot of cross-over between the various lists but that’s part of the fun.
