Nights Volume 2

I had completely forgotten I had got this for myself as a treat! Just sitting there with the rest of the unread graphic novels.

I started this and was immediately confused, had to read volume 1 to remember where I’d left off.

This definitely helped but there is so much being revealed in this volume, so many threads, so many stories, at times it was hard to keep it all together.

This isn’t saying that I didn’t enjoy this and it’s great finding more about Ivory and Grey, but it sometimes felt that there was too much going on and the story wasn’t moving apace, but once you got to the end it sort of came together.

This supernatural world has been ‘fleshed’ out so much more in this volume and we’re still seeing new foes popping up as the apocalypse inches closer, but there is also another finality creeping through the book as all the group is in the process of moving away to different places.

Brilliant art that encompasses the frantic nature of the story telling, lots of movement and energy that also brilliantly slows down to those moments of calm and changes tones and colours with it.

Really enjoyed the little collection of short pieces near the end, explaining more of the world.

Looking forward to season 2 collections later this year
